My name is Tyler Beesley, and I consider myself from Oregon, but have spent the majority of my life outside of the US. I lived in London, England from 1993 to 1999 where I attended the American School in London, and in Tokyo, Japan from 1999 to 2003, where I attended the American School in Japan. Growing up I played soccer, golf, basketball, baseball, football, and wrestled, and have always loved being involved in sports. Following graduation from high school, I moved to McMinnville, Oregon to attend Linfield College, a Division 3 school with a rich athletic history. I graduated in 2007 with a major in International Business and a minor in Spanish, and during my senior year I was part of the Student Body Government as the Director of Intramural Sports.
Following graduation from college, I moved to Northern Minnesota to work as a Customs and Border Protection Officer with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). I worked for the DHS for two years, and was then fortunate enough to join the Department of State, where I have worked since 2009. During my tenure with the Department of State, I have been posted to Nouakchott, Mauritania, La Paz, Bolivia, and now Doha, Qatar. While in Mauritania, I assisted with coaching and mentoring a local little league baseball team, and also helped with the American school's athletic program. During my posting to Bolivia, I continued to be involved with the school's athletic program, and provided them assistance to their basketball program. Since being assigned to Qatar, I have been involved with the American School in Doha's athletic program, and just finished being an assistant coach on the girl's JV Soccer team, which took 3rd place in the regional tournament.
Sports have always been a part of my life, and following completion of this internship I would like to explore options of this billion dollar industry becoming an even bigger part of my life. The internship with D. Greene Sports is my first involvement with a sport's agent, and this is an experience that I have enjoyed, and a future job which interests me greatly. In the short-term, I would like to continue working in the international sports arena, as an agent trying to help US-based clients find employment in a foreign country. In the long-term, I would like to start my own international sports company, and bring US-based clients to professional international sports leagues, and also find international clients to introduce to the professional American sports leagues.
